One of the Barossa's finest, this Shiraz is loaded with rich, ripe blackberry, chocolate and plum notes up front with spice, toasty oak and chalky tannins on back palate. It's an extraordinary wine that's drinking deliciously now but can also be cellared till 2020.

Nose - On the nose liquorice and ripe blackberry top notes are followed by some dark plum and a hint of spice. The wine has a concentration of aromas that come from not over-ripe fruits. The smells change quickly in the glass and are fascinating to follow but the mouth beckons.
Palate - Full bodied the palate is filled with rich ripe blackberries, chocolate spice and plum flavours followed by some toasty oak and spice. Almost chalk like tannin but it's all about the pure fruit.
Background - Heirloom Vineyards was conceived in vintage 2000, when a young winemaking student caught the eye of a silly old wine judge. A love story ensued inspired by two vows: To preserve the best of tradition, the old world of wine and our unique old vineyards and to champion the best clones of each variety planted in the most appropriate sites embracing the principals of organic and biodynamic farming. Seven long vintages of trial and error passed before Heirloom Vineyards could make a wine that was fine enough to pass on to future generations. That is this wine.
